Wild space, Exploration, Education, Protection
Complementary to Exhibits and Activities at the Toronto Zoo, the elephant labyrinth extends the visitor experience with fresh programmatic components. It's a maze, a labyrinth, a virtual zoo, a place which unfolds and unravels, which can be discovered and re-discovered, full of mystery, intrigue and surprise. And it's programmable, so it can be current and constantly evolving. It's an extended visitor experience which speaks directly to the zoo's mandate of recreation, education and protection in an innovative, cost-effective way. The work was commissioned by Zoocheck as an alternate to the live Elephant Exhibit and was a critical part of their successful effort to relocate Toronto Zoo's Elephants to the PAWS Sanctuary in California.
