A renovation and expansion of the hospital's existing Patient and Family Library, the project includes alterations of the existing Patient and Family Library and northwest portion of the Atrium located on the Ground Floor of the Toronto Western Hospital to create the Paul B. Helliwell Patient and Family Library.

The renovated space accommodates an expanded program and allows the Library to be more accessible to patients while offering diverse technological services, extended resources and library materials, as well as a larger visible presence within the hospital. The interior design process engaged diverse hospital stakeholders including Education Centre Staff, Foundation, Infrastructure, Infection Control and Administration.
